Technical overview
Rolatube's 12-meter mast extends the same rollable CFRP technology to heights where antenna gain makes the difference between having or not having a link. At 12 meters of height, a VHF/UHF omnidirectional antenna increases its radio horizon by approximately 12 additional km versus ground level — sufficient to establish BLOS communication with units in mountainous terrain without resorting to SATCOM.
The 12-meter model incorporates an integrated stabilization guy system that deploys simultaneously with the mast, reducing total setup time — mast plus guys — to less than 5 minutes with two operators. The 25 kg tip load capacity accommodates small-format satellite dish antennas (60-90 cm VSAT), VHF/UHF repeaters up to 10W, and gyro-stabilized camera systems for persistent ISR. It is compatible with the same base system as the 6-meter model, facilitating spare parts logistics.
