Kinetic Mesh node with 5G NR and LTE support. Combines cellular connectivity with InstaMesh mesh for operations in mixed-coverage zones or with cellular backhaul.
Rajant Corporation
BreadCrumb Hawk — Multi-Carrier 5G Kinetic Mesh Node
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The BreadCrumb Hawk integrates the first 5G NR radio in the BreadCrumb family with Rajant's InstaMesh protocol. This combination solves the operational scenario where part of the operations area has commercial or private 5G/LTE coverage and the rest operates in autonomous mesh mode: the Hawk acts as a gateway between the InstaMesh network deployed in the field and the available cellular network, automatically routing traffic over the optimal path — mesh when available, cellular when mesh doesn't reach.
In industry, the Hawk is the solution for operations spanning urban areas with 5G coverage and rural or underground zones without cellular coverage: PE and ME nodes in the field form the autonomous mesh, and the Hawk at the perimeter acts as a backhaul to the company's IP backbone through the private or public 5G network without depending on additional physical links.
