BreadCrumb Cardinal Gateway Node

Technical overview
In a Rajant Kinetic Mesh network, BreadCrumb PE and ME nodes move with machinery and cover the operational space. The BreadCrumb Cardinal solves the next layer of the problem: how to connect that mobile mesh network to fixed infrastructure — fiber, enterprise LTE, or microwave links — so the entire fleet has transparent access to SCADA, ERP, and video systems at the control center.
The Cardinal incorporates three simultaneous independent radios: the first two operate at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz to maintain coverage density in the installation area, while the third acts as a dedicated backhaul to the next Cardinal or to the fiber exit point, without competing for the same spectrum as user traffic. This physical separation of data and backhaul planes eliminates the bottleneck that appears in single-radio mesh networks as node density scales.
In complex industrial topographies — offshore platforms, smelters, pit mines with 300-meter elevation changes — the Cardinal is installed at terrain high points or on existing towers. From there it builds the wireless backbone skeleton to which dozens of mobile PE nodes connect. The resulting architecture has no single point of failure: if a Cardinal goes down, the others reroute traffic through alternate paths in less than 10 ms thanks to the underlying InstaMesh protocol shared by all BreadCrumbs.
