Technical overview
The BreadCrumb LynX is Rajant's Kinetic Mesh node designed specifically for the individual warfighter and special operations teams. Unlike the PE and ME nodes oriented toward fixed industrial infrastructure, the LynX is portable, single-hand operable, and resistant to ground combat conditions — drops, immersion, dust, and extreme temperatures — meeting MIL-STD-810H and ATEX Zone 2.
The LynX InstaMesh protocol is identical to that of the PE and Cardinal: when an operator with a LynX approaches the operations area, their radio automatically discovers existing nodes and integrates into the same IP network without network operator intervention. Route switching occurs in less than 10 ms — invisible to ATAK applications, SA systems, and video streams running over the network. This property is critical in urban assault operations where teams move rapidly between buildings with variable signal obstruction.
Native integration with Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) makes the LynX the data link for the platoon's situational awareness system: GPS positions of all nodes, threat tracks, and maneuver overlays are automatically shared over the Kinetic Mesh network without operator intervention. Unlike radio-over-IP systems requiring server infrastructure, the LynX network operates in fully autonomous island mode — no dependency on internet, cloud, or cellular towers. This architecture is essential for operations in remote VRAEM areas, border zones, or active EW environments where civil infrastructure is degraded or nonexistent.
