Kalkitech SCADA Historian Process Data Historian for Critical Infrastructure
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Kalkitech SCADA Historian is the process data historian designed for the long-term storage and trend analysis requirements of the most demanding critical infrastructures: electrical transmission networks, drinking water systems, gas pipelines, and industrial plants where historical data is both an operational optimization tool and legal evidence in case of incident.
The historian engine stores up to 1 million tags at frequencies up to 1 Hz — one sample per second per variable — using a proprietary lossless compression algorithm that achieves 95% compression ratios for typical process signals, allowing retention of 10 years of history for 100,000 tags on a standard 12 TB storage server without losing any sample.
Access to historical data is simultaneously exposed via OPC-UA for SCADA platforms, via REST JSON API for analytics applications and cloud dashboards, and via standard SQL for corporate reports and business intelligence tools. The integrated web client allows visualizing trends of any combination of tags in any time window from 1 second to 10 years with interactive zoom and event annotation, without installing additional software on control center workstations.
