Technical overview
The Kalkitech OT Cybersecurity Gateway is the cybersecurity solution designed specifically for operational technology (OT) networks and industrial control infrastructure (ICS), where the protection of SCADA systems, PLCs, and IEDs cannot compromise the availability and determinism of process control that traditional IT solutions would tolerate.
The deep packet inspection (DPI) engine analyzes the content of all common industrial protocols — Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, IEC 61850 GOOSE/MMS, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and OPC-UA — inline without introducing additional latency, validating that each sent command is legitimate per the configured process logic. Any write command to an unauthorized address, out-of-range process value, or anomalous communication pattern generates an immediate alert and can be automatically blocked.
The AI anomaly detection engine learns the baseline of normal communications in the OT network during a 14-day observation period and detects statistical deviations that could indicate attacker lateral movement, data exfiltration, or network reconnaissance, without requiring updated threat signatures. The passive (TAP) or inline deployment architecture allows installing the system in existing OT networks without process control interruption.
