Eventide CallRec Edge Border Call Recorder for IP Dispatch and Tactical Radiotelephony
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Eventide CallRec Edge is the communications recording solution designed for remote nodes where permanent connectivity to the main operations center does not exist: a district police station, forward command post, electrical substation, or border crossing where bandwidth is limited but the forensic recording requirement is identical to that of the metropolitan operations center.
The device simultaneously records up to 8 channels, combining VoIP SIP lines (including SRTP encrypted traffic), analog radiotelephony via RJ-45/RJ-11 interface, and digital P25/DMR radio channels via integrated audio gateway. Each recording is encrypted in real time with AES-256 using a unique device key derived from the integrated HSM, ensuring that even if the physical unit is captured or stolen, the content is inaccessible without the operations center master key.
The 30-day local storage with 512GB SSD operates in circular FIFO mode, always preserving the most recent month without administrator intervention. When connectivity to the central Eventide NexGen server is restored, the CallRec Edge automatically synchronizes pending recordings in reverse chronological order — prioritizing the most recent — with adaptive compression that adjusts the transfer rate to available bandwidth without saturating the operational link.
Remote management via HTTPS with client certificate eliminates the need to deploy technical personnel to the remote node for configuration or evidence extraction, reducing operational cost in distributed recording networks with dozens of nodes.
