Bitstream Tactical Switch Rugged Managed Ethernet Switch for Tactical Networks
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Bitstream Tactical Switch is the managed Layer 3 Ethernet switch designed specifically for IP networks in armored vehicles, field command posts, and forward operating base (FOB) local area networks that require 10 Gbps switching performance with certified TEMPEST isolation.
TEMPEST Zone B certification guarantees that electromagnetic emissions from the switch cannot be intercepted and decoded from outside the vehicle or compartment where it operates, protecting the confidentiality of tactical communications even without additional traffic encryption. The machined aluminum body design with integrated EM shielding provides this protection without additional external enclosures.
The 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports plus 4 SFP 10 Gbps ports support the convergence of multiple tactical systems onto a single managed IP network: VoIP radios, C2 workstations, surveillance cameras, positioning systems, and data terminals. The fanless design with aluminum housing dissipation operates without degradation between -40°C and +70°C and withstands 5G RMS vibrations per MIL-STD-810H. Out-of-band management via dedicated serial console port and isolated HTTPS web access allows configuring and monitoring the switch without exposing the management plane to the data network.
