Bitstream Crypto Router Layer 2/3 Encryption IP Router for Tactical Networks
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Bitstream Crypto Router is the hardware IP router with dedicated encryption for protecting classified tactical networks, designed to operate in armored vehicles, field command posts, and airborne platforms where communications security and environmental robustness are non-negotiable requirements.
The dedicated AES-256 hardware encryption module encrypts IP traffic at Layer 2 and Layer 3 simultaneously with 1 Gbps throughput without degrading routing latency, ensuring no cleartext data exits the equipment to the communications links. FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certification validates the correct implementation of cryptographic algorithms for use in government and military classified networks.
The fanless design with natural convection dissipation operates without degradation in the -40°C to +70°C range and withstands 10G vibrations per MIL-STD-810H, suitable for direct installation in tactical vehicle racks without additional shock mounts. Out-of-band management via dedicated serial port allows device administration without exposing the management plane to the classified data network.
