Bitstream PTP Boundary Clock — IEEE 1588v2 Boundary Clock for Telecommunications Networks
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Bitstream PTP Boundary Clock is the precision time distribution node for telecommunications networks requiring sub-microsecond synchronization across all active elements: 4G LTE networks require phase synchronization < 1.5 µs between BTS for TDD mode handover, and 5G NR (TDD mode) networks require < 130 ns across the entire synchronization chain from GNSS source to antenna.
The internal OCXO (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator) maintains reference frequency with ±0.05 ppb stability at controlled temperature, allowing holdover capability of more than 24 hours with frequency drift < 1 µs/hour when the GNSS or PRC reference is lost.
For Peru's telecommunications operators — Claro, Entel, Movistar, Bitel — and optical transport providers feeding the 5G distribution network in Lima and major cities, the Bitstream PTP Boundary Clock provides the synchronization hop needed between the GNSS Grandmaster and active elements at remote sites.
