Technical overview
The Zetron M500 IP Dispatch is the mission-critical dispatch console designed for public safety and defense command centers that operate high-availability multi-site P25 networks, where console interruption — even for seconds — can have irreversible operational consequences: the inability to coordinate response to an active incident at the moment of greatest demand.
The console implements native P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 TDMA access via CSSI (Console Subsystem Interface) to each trunk network site, with capacity to simultaneously monitor and transmit on up to 24 radio channels assigned to predefined talk groups, geographic zones, or operational functions. The ISSI (Inter-RF Subsystem Interface) allows the dispatcher to access P25 networks of other agencies — police, fire, ambulance, armed forces — from the same console without switching applications, enabling interagency coordination in complex incidents without switching delay.
The active-active redundancy architecture with two real-time synchronized application servers guarantees automatic failover in less than 500 milliseconds upon failure of any component, without the dispatcher losing the active call or needing to restart the session. The sub-100 millisecond voice switching latency — comparable to quality digital telephony — eliminates the perceptible delay that characterizes low-cost IP software consoles and creates confusion in high-speed tactical communications.
