Simoco TETRA Dispatcher Web TETRA Dispatch Console with GIS Visualization and Talk Group Management
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Simoco TETRA Dispatcher is the next-generation dispatch console designed to replace proprietary hardware consoles — metal boxes with fixed physical keyboards and limited-resolution displays — with a web application that the dispatcher can operate from any workstation with a browser, including remote backup equipment at a secondary operations center during a contingency affecting the primary dispatch center.
The integrated GIS interface shows in real time the position of all active TETRA units on the city or facility map, with status icons differentiated by unit type (vehicle, pedestrian, fixed post), terminal battery level, and active voice channel. The dispatcher can click on any unit icon to see its position history for the last 4 hours, the transcript of the last voice communications (if the Eventide recording system is integrated), and the time since its last status check-in.
Management of 64 simultaneous talk groups is organized in a channel grid configurable by the dispatcher via drag-and-drop, with real-time audio activity indicators (VU meters) on each channel and individual volume control. The cross-channel listening function allows the dispatcher to monitor two channels simultaneously in headsets — the command channel in the right ear and the field channel in the left — with the console automatically managing secondary channel muting during primary channel transmissions to prevent audio overlap.
