The INVISIO V60 is the third-generation active hearing protection headset designed for the armored platform operator — driver, gunner, or vehicle commander — who needs hearing protection against the sonic impact of the cannon and nearby detonations, without losing the ability to hear the immediate environment (crew voices, spoken orders, alert sounds) that conventional passive earmuffs suppress along with the hearing damage.

The V60's active hearing protection technology applies a dual-channel audio processor that continuously amplifies ambient sounds below 82 dB with a 4× factor — a whisper from an operator at 5 meters is clearly audible — and activates suppression in under 0.5 ms when the signal exceeds the 85 dB hearing damage threshold, cutting the sound impulse before it reaches the ear canal. The 0.5 ms response is 200 times faster than the natural acoustic reflex of the human ear, providing effective protection against firearm discharges, explosions, and the main cannon recoil impulse of an IFV.

The NFMI (Near-Field Magnetic Induction) connection between the V60 headset and the INVISIO U10 communications controller the operator carries in the body armor vest uses near-field magnetic induction at 10.6 MHz — no visible external cable, no connector exposed to mechanical snagging — to simultaneously transmit audio from up to two military radios and the vehicle intercom system to the operator's headphones inside the Batlskin or PASGT helmet. The operator can mix audio levels from each source with the U10 controls while keeping hands free on the weapon or vehicle controls.
