Technical overview
The Tactical ISR UAV is a fixed-wing conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) platform designed specifically for reconnaissance and intelligence operations in Andean and Amazonian operational contexts. With 4 hours of endurance and a 50 km datalink range, it covers a continuous search area equivalent to an entire province from a single ground control station — without the altitude limitations that hamper commercial multirotor systems adapted for tactical use.
The modular payload architecture allows field-swapping in under 10 minutes between three mission modules: the 3-axis gimbal-stabilized EO/IR module (high-resolution day camera + LWIR thermal sensor), the passive SIGINT module for characterization and geolocation of radio-frequency emissions, and the communications module to serve as an airborne relay for IP mesh tactical networks such as TSM-X. This architecture makes the system a multi-mission platform with a single airframe type, eliminating the need for specialized fleets by role.
The encrypted dual-link datalink (control uplink + video/data downlink) operates in C-band with frequency hopping to reduce vulnerability to electronic interference. Native ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit) integration distributes georeferenced video, position telemetry, and marked areas of interest directly to all tablets on the tactical network, without additional hardware or middleware. The system includes autonomous operation modes for pre-programmed routes and return-to-origin on link loss, with GPS + inertial IMU navigation redundancy.
