COHU PTZ Continuous 360° Continuous Rotation PTZ Camera for Perimeter Surveillance Without Blind Spots

The COHU PTZ Continuous is the continuous-rotation PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) surveillance camera designed for critical infrastructure security operators who need 360° perimeter coverage from a single camera installed in a central elevated position, without the blind spot created by the mechanical rotation limit of conventional PTZ cameras — the 15-25° sector left uncovered while the camera reverses direction upon reaching the stop, which experienced intruders exploit to enter during that interval.

The continuous rotating electrical slip-ring transmission mechanism eliminates the mechanical stop of conventional PTZs, allowing indefinite rotation in any direction without direction reversal or image interruptions. In automatic patrol mode, the camera continuously scans the complete perimeter at configurable angular speed from 0.1° to 200° per second, automatically stopping when the deep learning motion tracking algorithm detects a person, vehicle, or moving object at any perimeter point, keeping it framed with the active 30× optical zoom until it leaves the maximum field of view.

The simultaneous multi-target tracking function with up to 8 targets in parallel assigns an ID to each detected target — Target 1, Target 2... — maintaining position and direction history for each to detect anomalous behaviors such as perimeter loitering, approach to restricted zones, or movement against the authorized direction. Native integration with Milestone, Genetec, and COHU NexusVMS VMS automatically exports motion-detected clips tagged with timestamp and azimuth coordinates to the evidence server without additional integration configuration.
