Cohu Nexus VMS — IP Video Management System for Critical Infrastructure and Public Safety
Technical specifications
Technical overview
Cohu Nexus VMS is the enterprise-level video management platform for security centers that need to simultaneously supervise hundreds or thousands of IP cameras from different manufacturers, with automatic video analysis that reduces operator workload and ensures no critical event goes undetected. Nexus VMS's distributed architecture allows deploying recording servers at multiple physical locations with automatic failover.
The integrated AI analytics engine processes video on the central server without requiring additional edge computing hardware: it detects zone intrusion, virtual line crossing, people counting, abandoned vehicle detection, and license plate recognition with > 95% accuracy in standard lighting conditions.
The evidence export function generates video files with SHA-256 hash calculated at export time and certified by the server, equivalent to a digital chain of custody recognized by Peru's Public Ministry for investigation procedures.
