COHU Horizon 4K Long-Range PTZ Camera for Border Surveillance and Critical Infrastructure
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The COHU Horizon 4K is the long-range surveillance system designed for the most demanding perimeters: national borders, nuclear power plants, dams, and strategic ports where a single camera must cover kilometers of terrain with remote identification capability.
The system combines in a single IP68 housing a 1/1.8" 4K sensor with 60x optical zoom (35mm equivalent: 36–2160 mm) and a 640×480 pixel thermal sensor with 75 mm f/1.0 lens. Automatic thermal-over-visible image fusion allows target detection in fog, smoke, rain, and total darkness when the visible image alone would be insufficient. At standard ambient temperature, the system detects a vehicle at 8 km and classifies at 4 km; a person is detected at 4 km and classified at 2 km in ideal conditions.
The AI-based automatic target tracking maintains lock on moving targets at speeds up to 120 km/h, ideal for intrusion vehicle tracking in extensive perimeters. The platform rotates 360° continuously without cable-stop and tilts from -90° to +45°, with speeds up to 200°/second for rapid response to perimeter alarms. Compatible with major manufacturer VMS via ONVIF Profile S/G/T.
