Technical overview
The Zetron P25 Logger is the P25 traffic logging system designed for agencies operating P25 trunk radio networks — National Police, state security agencies, critical infrastructure operators — with the legal obligation to retain operational communications records for 12 months for internal audit, incident investigation, and judicial compliance purposes, without the cost and complexity of integrating the recording system with the P25 network server via each manufacturer's proprietary interfaces.
The logger captures P25 traffic passively via a dedicated RF receiver tuned to the trunking network's control and traffic channels, without requiring access to the P25 infrastructure IP backhaul or network server management interface — greatly simplifying deployment on existing P25 networks where the system operator does not always have full administrative access to the original manufacturer.
Native P25 Phase 1 (FDMA, IMBE codec) and Phase 2 (TDMA, AMBE2+ codec) talk group decoding automatically identifies each voice transmission with its talk group, transmitting radio unique ID, start and end time, duration, received signal level (RSSI), and encryption status (P25 DES/AES), generating structured metadata enabling search by any of these parameters in the records management system.
The forensic export module generates WAV files with embedded XMP metadata (UTC date, time, radio ID, group, duration, RSSI) and SHA-256 chain-of-custody digital signature, compatible with electronic evidence admissibility requirements established by Peru's Code of Criminal Procedure for presentation before the Judiciary.
