Technical overview
TrellisWare's WINGs extends the TSM-X network to the unmanned aerial domain. Unlike proprietary UAV data links (DJI OcuSync, Silvus StreamCaster, ATAK Link), WINGs converts each unmanned aircraft into another node in the existing TSM-X network: the UAV automatically inherits the routing, AES-256 encryption, and adaptive topology of the rest of the mesh network, without additional frequency or channel configuration.
This architecture solves the fundamental problem of UAV C2 in joint operations: when the ground operator moves or loses line-of-sight with the UAV, any TW-950 or CHAOS node in the area can act as a transparent repeater in the TSM-X network, maintaining the control link without operator intervention. The UAV can also retransmit ISR video in real time directly to network nodes — allowing the commander at the command post to see the UAV image without an intermediate GCS (Ground Control Station).
WINGs' form factor is optimized for MALE-class UAVs and tactical fixed-wing platforms: the 180g module integrates into the standard payload bay and consumes less than 8W during continuous transmission — compatible with most military UAV power budgets in the Group 2-3 category (STANAG 4586). EAR controlled certification means Emar Systems manages the DDTC licenses required for import into Peru.
