Technical overview
The TW Shadow 650 Core Board is the module that allows systems integrators and platform manufacturers to incorporate TrellisWare's TSM-X waveform directly into their products, without adopting the full housed radio. In TrellisWare's Shadow family, the Core Board represents the deepest integration level for vehicular and platform applications: the manufacturer designs the antenna, user interface, and power supply to their own specifications, while the Core Board provides the TSM-X engine — the processing core, waveform, and encryption.
The 650 Core Board's operating frequency positions this platform between the TW-750 and TW-950 in the UHF spectrum — a band that offers a good balance of range, penetration, and spectrum availability in governmental and military applications. The integrator designing a command vehicle or ISR platform can include the Core Board 650 in their design without needing an external radio connector, reducing installation complexity, electromagnetic signature, and number of failure points.
