Theon Argus II Digital Night Vision Monocular with Thermal Fusion for Special Operations
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Theon Argus II is the digital image fusion night vision monocular designed for special forces operators, forward observers, and sniper teams requiring maximum night observation versatility in a single compact platform, avoiding the need to carry both a night vision monocular and a separate thermal binocular.
The real-time image fusion system combines the Gen 3+ image intensifier tube image with the 384x288 pixel LWIR thermal sensor image through a dedicated fusion processor, creating a single image that overlays the textural detail of I2 (facial identification, license plates, vegetation) with the LWIR thermal information (body heat, vehicle engines, recent footprints). The operator can switch between pure I2, pure LWIR, and fusion mode with a single button in 0.8 seconds.
The 6x long-range optics with ±5 diopter correction allow observation of human targets up to 800 meters with positive identification in I2+LWIR fusion. The 480 gram weight and monocular form factor allows use with J-arm helmet mount or handheld, maintaining natural binocular vision with the non-dominant eye.
