Theon Argos IV Fourth-Generation Night Vision Goggle with Thermal and Digital Fusion

Technical overview
The Theon Argos IV is the fourth-generation night vision goggle that integrates three complementary imaging technologies into a single head-mounted display: the second-generation image intensification tube with 80,000 cd/m² gain, the uncooled 640×480 pixel thermal sensor with 17 µm pixel pitch, and the 2-megapixel low-light digital image sensor — fusing the three signals in real time to provide the operator with a composite image that combines the strengths of each technology.
The intelligent adaptive fusion analyzes the quality of each channel in real time and automatically adjusts the contribution weight of each sensor according to conditions: prioritizes the image intensification channel on nights with moonlight or faint artificial illumination, switches to the thermal channel in total darkness or concealment scenarios due to smoke and dense vegetation, and uses the digital channel for color recording during tactical twilight and dawns. The operator can also manually select the preferred mode or fusion via the three-position selector on the goggle body.
The total weight of 520 grams with batteries included is 22% lighter than previous-generation thermal-digital fusion goggles, allowing use during 8-hour operations without significant cervical fatigue. The 16-hour battery life at full thermal fusion covers two nights of operations with a single set of field-swappable standard AA batteries.
