Technical overview
The Simoco GT9000 is the vehicle radio designed for public safety fleets that need a radio with contextual intelligence — that not only transmits voice but knows which jurisdiction the vehicle is in and automatically configures the correct channel without driver intervention — combined with TETRA/DMR dual-mode robustness to maintain the link when the vehicle moves to zones of discontinuous coverage between systems.
The integrated GNSS module updates vehicle position every 2 seconds to the dispatch center's AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) server, feeding the EOC's common situational picture in real time without additional tracking hardware. The network operator-configurable geofencing function divides the coverage area into digital geofences — for example, one geofence per police station or patrol sector — and when the vehicle crosses a geofence boundary, the GT9000 automatically changes its active talk group to the channel assigned to that sector without driver intervention, eliminating situations where the patrol unit enters a zone and continues listening to the previous zone's channel while local operators are calling on the correct channel.
Emergency mode combines the robust-housing physical panic button with a 15-second circular audio buffer: when the button is pressed, the GT9000 simultaneously transmits the 15 seconds of audio captured before the press plus real-time audio to the predefined emergency group, providing the dispatcher with the sonic context of the incident from before the operator could react. The Ethernet interface on the radio's rear connector enables direct integration with dispatch center CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems, transmitting radio events (calls, active groups, emergencies) as digital records to the CAD server without an intermediate gateway.
