Technical overview
The Kalkitech MG Edge is the industrial communications gateway that enables the digital transformation of critical infrastructure by connecting existing field equipment (meters, protections, RTUs, PLCs) to cloud platforms, SCADA systems, and advanced analytics solutions.
Supports more than 60 industrial field protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870, DLMS, BACnet) and converts them to modern IoT protocols (MQTT, AMQP, REST) or industrial automation standards (IEC 61850, OPC-UA). Configuration is done via web interface without programming.
The integrated edge processor executes local logic rules for data preprocessing and control actions without relying on cloud connectivity. Buffered local storage ensures no data loss during communication interruptions with the central server.
