IEC 61850 / DNP3 / IEC 104 / Modbus substation gateway. Converts legacy IEDs to modern protocols without equipment replacement. Certified for transmission SCADA integration.
Kalkitech
Kalkitech Arc One IED Gateway
Technical overview
The Arc One is Kalkitech's substation protocol gateway, designed to solve the most critical challenge of Peru's electrical system modernization: the coexistence of IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices) from different generations and manufacturers in the same substation. In the SEIN, many substations operate with protection relays and meters installed in the 1990s that speak Modbus RTU or DNP3 Serial — protocols incompatible with modern IEC 61850 SCADAs.
The Arc One eliminates the need to replace this legacy equipment. It acts as a universal translator: it acquires data from legacy IEDs using their native protocols and republishes it in real time to the SCADA via IEC 61850 MMS/GOOSE or IEC 104. The result is a fully integrated hybrid substation in the supervisory network without investment in new field hardware.
