Maritime Patrol VTOL UAV — Long-Range Coastal Surveillance
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Maritime Patrol VTOL UAV combines the advantages of fixed-wing aircraft — high aerodynamic efficiency, long endurance, cruise speed — with the multirotor's vertical takeoff and landing capability, eliminating the need for runway or catapult and enabling operation from patrol vessel decks or unprepared beaches and riverbanks. This combination makes it operationally viable for the Peruvian Navy, Coast Guard, and fishing concessionaires needing to monitor extensive maritime zones without the logistics of a crewed aircraft.
The platform flies in fixed-wing mode once airborne, with minimal energy consumption allowing 6 hours of flight covering up to 800 km of search area in a single flight. The primary payload is a 3-axis stabilized EO/IR turret with 30x optical zoom camera, 640×480 LWIR thermal camera for night detection, and laser rangefinder. Payloads are field-interchangeable in under 10 minutes.
For DICAPI and the Peruvian Navy, the maritime VTOL UAV provides coverage of the exclusive maritime zone (ZME) and Peruvian coastline at a fraction of the operating cost of Cessna or Beechcraft aircraft currently in service.
