Bitstream SDR Platform Software-Defined Radio Platform for Development and Deployment of Tactical Waveforms

Technical overview
The Bitstream SDR Platform is the military-grade software-defined radio platform designed for waveform development laboratories, acquisition organizations, and electronic warfare units that need a certifiable hardware platform capable of simultaneously executing multiple standard and proprietary tactical waveforms, eliminating hardware-based certification cycles, and enabling communication capability updates via software without changing the physical radio.
The processing core combines a cutting-edge Xilinx RFSoC FPGA with ARM Cortex-A72 processors and dedicated DSPs running SCA 2.2 (Software Communications Architecture) middleware with REDHAWK, the open-source SDR framework certified for defense applications by DARPA and the DoD. This architecture allows loading, instantiating, and executing waveforms as waveform components: independent software units that can be individually certified by type and then combined without re-certifying the complete hardware, reducing new waveform approval time from 18-36 months to 6-12 months.
The 70 MHz to 6 GHz RF synthesizer with 160 MHz instantaneous bandwidth covers WBHF HF, SINCGARS VHF, HAVEQUICK UHF, L-Band Link 16, satellite S-Band, and C-Band with a single RF front-end. The multi-waveform simultaneous operation mode allows running up to four different waveform instances in parallel — for example, Link 16 on L-Band, HAVEQUICK on UHF, and a spectrum analysis waveform on C-Band — sharing RF hardware through high-precision time partitioning managed by the FPGA.
