Technical overview
The Quazar 200 is Bitstream's reference grandmaster for harsh industrial environments. It distributes nanosecond-precision time to protection relays, IEDs, and SCADA systems via PTPv2 while simultaneously serving NTP and Synchronous Ethernet for legacy equipment. In IEC 61850 substations, line differential protection demands aligned clocks between ends separated by tens of kilometers; a grandmaster with ±40 ns accuracy and integrated switching fabric simplifies that architecture by combining time server and switch in a single full-temperature-range device.
