Technical overview
The Hyperion 500 is Bitstream's flagship modular platform for critical infrastructure networks. Its 8 hot-swap slots allow configuring combinations of copper ports, SFP fiber, and 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks per installation without replacing the chassis. The PTPv2 boundary clock function with sub-200 ns accuracy and optional PRP/HSR support (IEC 62439-3) via REDBOX module make it suitable for substation protection networks per IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613, where losing a GOOSE packet or clock drift between IEDs is not tolerable.
