Simoco SDM620 DMR Tier III Mobile Radio for Public Safety Vehicles
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Simoco SDM620 is the high-power DMR Tier III mobile radio designed specifically for public safety vehicles — police patrol cars, fire trucks, and advanced life support ambulances — requiring DMR trunked network coverage with integrated data and GPS capabilities in a remote-head format that allows installing the radio body in the vehicle trunk and the control head on the driver's dashboard.
The 50W transmit power on VHF (136-174 MHz) and UHF (400-512 MHz) provides the trunked network coverage needed in urban peripheral areas where the repeater signal is weakest, with a receive sensitivity of -120 dBm that guarantees clear communications even in building basements and tunnels. The SDM620 remote head design installs the radio body in the vehicle trunk to protect it from theft and damage, with a head cable up to 3 meters long.
The 3.5-inch TFT color display on the control head shows the active channel, DMR system status, vehicle GPS position on map, and text messages up to 160 characters received from the dispatch console. The integrated GPS updates vehicle position to dispatch every 15 seconds for the command center's AVL system.
