Technical overview
Rolatube's System 100 extends bi-stable carbon fiber technology to 10 meters height — the threshold where small-format VSAT antenna systems (45-90 cm) begin achieving their maximum aperture gain and where low-band HF antennas reach the first wavelength multiple. At 10 meters above ground, an omnidirectional VHF radio extends its radio horizon by more than 12 additional km versus ground level — enough to establish BLOS links with battalion positions in open terrain without resorting to single-link SATCOM.
The 10m mast deploys with two operators in approximately 8 minutes including the integrated guy system. The guy wire design is self-compensating: tension in the stabilization cables balances automatically without individual guy adjustment — a process that in conventional telescopic masts requires a theodolite or laser level to guarantee verticality. The tip load capacity allows installing a 60-90 cm VSAT antenna together with a tactical communications repeater up to 10W.
Unlike telescopic masts of the same height (typically 25-40 kg with accessories), the complete System 100 with base and guys weighs approximately 12 kg — transportable in a single support vehicle without transport capacity modification.
