INVISIO
INVISIO M Series — ATEX Intercom for Explosive Zones
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The INVISIO M Series solves the problem of reliable voice communications in environments where the usual alternative is not to communicate: offshore platforms, turbine rooms, crude oil storage tanks, refineries in ATEX Zone 1, and underground mines with explosive atmosphere risk. The intrinsically safe (Ex 'i') certification guarantees that no component of the system — neither the intercom, nor the cables, nor the connectors — can generate sufficient energy to initiate ignition in flammable gas or dust mixtures under any fault condition.
Unlike conventional industrial communications solutions that offer half-duplex push-to-talk with low audio fidelity, the M Series operates in full-duplex allowing natural voice communication without the need to press a button — critical when the operator has both hands occupied in field tasks or is wearing protective gloves. The active noise cancellation algorithm suppresses industrial noise up to 95 dBA, allowing intelligible communication in gas turbine machinery rooms or compression centers.
Integration with TETRA and DMR radios via the INVISIO Control Unit allows the operator in the ATEX zone to communicate with the supervisor in the safe area or with the control center without leaving the hazard zone to use a conventional handheld terminal. Emar Systems integrates the M Series as part of process safety communications (PSM) systems for refineries, natural gas terminals, and offshore operations in Peru.
