Fischer Connectors Rugged Sensor Series Connectors for Sensors in Extreme Defense Environments
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Fischer Connectors Rugged Sensor Series is the miniaturized connector family designed for the most critical sensors in modern defense systems: LIDAR in turrets, EO/IR cameras in UAV gimbals, detonation accelerometers, weapon position sensors, and fire control encoders where a connector failure means the loss of combat capability.
The Rugged Sensor Series connectors use a precision contact architecture with ±0.005 mm position tolerance to guarantee signal integrity in high-resolution sensors. The grade 5 titanium or 316L stainless steel housing provides an optimal strength-to-weight ratio for UAV-embedded and weapon system applications where every gram matters. IP68/IP69K sealing with high-temperature silicone gasket (resistant from -60°C to +200°C) guarantees operation in vehicle pressure washing, desert sand rain, and condensation at 8,000-meter altitudes.
Push-Pull and quarter-turn bayonet coupling mechanisms allow connection and disconnection with combat gloves or in total darkness, with tactile and audible coupling feedback. The design is backward compatible with the Fischer Core Series family, simplifying the update of legacy platforms without redesigning cable harnesses.
