Fischer Connectors Freedom Push-Pull Instant-Coupling IP68 Connector for Critical Mission Field Equipment
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Fischer Connectors Freedom Push-Pull is the field connector designed for the tactical reality where the operator needs to connect and disconnect their communications equipment in a fraction of a second, with one hand, wearing thick combat gloves, in complete darkness, under torrential rain, or submerged during a river crossing — conditions where a conventional threaded or bayonet connector requires both hands, several seconds, and direct visibility.
The positive-locking push-pull mechanism operates with a single linear movement: push to connect until the locking click is heard, pull the release collar to disconnect. The 12N insertion force and 25N extraction force — calibrated to be operable with gloves yet resistant to accidental disconnection from impact or cable tension — have been validated per MIL-STD-810H Method 514.8 (vibration) and Method 516.8 (shock) to confirm the connector remains coupled under the dynamic loads of a moving armored vehicle or helicopter rappel.
IP68 certification to 10 meters depth for 4 hours — without seal degradation after 500 coupling/uncoupling cycles — makes it the standard interface for portable radio in amphibious operations, urban combat in rain, and deployments in flood-prone areas. Pin position coding with mechanical indexing prevents incorrect connection of cables from different systems, eliminating the risk of power reversal damage in field equipment without protection fuses.
Available in 2 to 19 pin configurations with signal, power, and data variants in the same connector body, it enables designing a single connection point for power, audio, data, and PTT control in a combat radio, reducing the number of exposed connectors on the operator's equipment.
