Fischer Connectors EVO Hybrid Hybrid Data Power and Fiber Connector for Next-Generation Tactical Platforms
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Fischer Connectors EVO Hybrid is the next-generation hybrid connector designed for next-generation tactical platforms — unmanned ground vehicles, integrated weapon systems, payload drones, and military robots — where the proliferation of independent connectors for data, power, and fiber optics in an increasingly reduced integration space represents the primary miniaturization bottleneck of the system.
The 32 mm outer diameter connector body integrates into a single interface: 8 shielded differential signal contacts capable of transmitting USB 3.2, GigE, 10GbE, or military bus protocols (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429) at up to 10 Gbps per pair; 4 power contacts with 4 mm² cross-section capable of conducting up to 40 continuous amperes at 12V, 24V, or 28V DC military power supply voltages; and 2 multimode 50/125 µm optical fibers for EMI-free bandwidth links up to 25 Gbps — the complete combination of interfaces that previously required three separate connectors, three assembly steps, and three independent seals.
The quarter-turn (90° rotation) coupling system allows connecting and disconnecting under water pressure, with thick combat gloves and in complete darkness with a single hand movement, in contrast to conventional circular threaded connectors that require several full turns to secure and verify coupling. The body machined in PVD black low-reflectivity surface-treated Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy withstands the complete MIL-STD-810H test protocol — shock, vibration, temperature from -55°C to +125°C, immersion to 100 meters — with 20,000 mating cycles guaranteed under these conditions.
