Drones Latam VTOL FW Hybrid Fixed-Wing VTOL ISR Platform
Technical specifications
Technical overview
The Drones Latam VTOL FW is the hybrid ISR platform that combines the runway-free vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) of multirotors with the aerodynamic efficiency and endurance of fixed-wing aircraft, solving the main operational limitation of both technologies.
The quad-tilt-rotor configuration allows vertical takeoff and landing from any 4x4 meter surface, eliminating the need for catapult, runway, or launch equipment. Once airborne, the rotors tilt forward and the platform flies in fixed-wing mode at 95 km/h cruise speeds with 8-hour endurance with the standard 1.2 kg ISR payload.
The dual-channel AES-256 encrypted data link (primary RF + SATCOM backup) guarantees control and video reception at distances up to 150 km line of sight. The integrated GNSS/INS autopilot allows pre-programmed autonomous missions with waypoint tracking and automatic return to base upon link loss. The platform is compatible with the Drones Latam EO/IR payload for day and night operation.
