Technical overview
The Drones Latam Cargo Resupply is the logistics transport unmanned aerial vehicle designed specifically for Latin American operational conditions — altitudes up to 4,500 meters above sea level in the Peruvian Andean highlands, 95% humidity in the Amazon, shear winds in mountain passes, and complete absence of takeoff and landing infrastructure — solving the fundamental logistics resupply problem at the most remote and difficult-to-access points in the region without requiring a helicopter or landing strip.
The platform combines a fixed-wing design for cruising efficiency and range with VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) capability to operate from any clearing less than 10 meters in diameter — a cargo truck, the deck of a patrol vessel, or the roof of a forward post. The four VTOL takeoff rotors fold aerodynamically into the fuselage after takeoff, eliminating the drag that penalizes efficiency in multi-rotor designs on long-range missions. The 15-kilogram payload — equivalent to 72 hours of combat rations for 4 soldiers, or a radio battery set for a company-size unit — is transported in the central watertight compartment accessed by a top hatch, with an emergency parachute system automatically activated upon engine failure.
The navigation system combines GPS+GLONASS+Galileo triband with backup inertial navigation and pre-loaded Andean mountain range topographic database, allowing automatic planning and flying of low-level routes that follow terrain relief to avoid radar and enemy visual detection in tactical resupply missions. The handheld portable ground control station with 7-inch screen allows the operator to monitor the flight and modify the unloading point in real time without pilot training.
